Peter Dörpinghaus

Peter Doerpinghaus (*1990 in Hückeswagen) had his first trumpet lessons with Mathias Wagemann at the age of four. From 1998 to 2002 he was trained by Dirk Pavelka, afterwards he changed to Martin Wagemann and 2004 to Mathias Müller. Therafter he became a student at Folkwang – University and was taught by Prof. Uwe Köller and other teachers. Since 2006 he has been a scholarship holder of the German Music Foundation “Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben” based on his first prize at the Natinal youth competition “Jugend Musiziert”, in addition he won the Hans Sikorski – Memoryprize for the exemplary interpretation of the piece “Solus” of Stanley Friedmann. In the summer of 2006 he played in the foundation’s concert series „Foyer Junger Künstler“, the concert took place in the hotel “Louis C. Jacob” in Hamburg. As a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Germany he played in concert halls like the Philharmonie in Berlin or the Gewandhaus in Leipzig. In 2007 he played concerts with the National Youth Orchestra in South-East Europe, and in 2009 in South Africa.
